I ended up figuring out that the active cockpit motd is only displayed to the root user. A reguler user login over ssh doesn't see the message. What I don't know is if that's intentional and so a change in the way it works, or if there's a misconfiguration or possibly a bug. I'll look through the docs to see if it's mentioned in there. BTW, I'm not going to lie, but I miss the old CentOS users' mail list. AlmaLinux's forums are no where near as convenient as the old email list for CentOS was. :/ I would vote for turning those forums off and making everyone go back to email, but I know many people won't like that. :: sigh :: -- Ranbir
