Hello,
since last week we are detecting problems with the mirror mirrors.ft.uam.es that force us to disable fastestmirror:
2022-11-14T09:00:02+0100 INFO Downloading: https://mirrors.almalinux.org/mirrorlist/8.6/appstream
2022-11-14T09:00:03+0100 INFO Downloading: http://mirrors.ft.uam.es/almalinux/8.6/AppStream/x86_64/os/repodata/repomd.…
2022-11-14T09:00:03+0100 WARNING WARNING: Repomd xml parser: Unknown element "html"
I've been looking for a direct contact email with them but I haven't found it anywhere, I don't know if it would be possible to exclude them from the mirrorlist until they fix it or if someone from this list can contact them to fix it.
Best regards
Hi folks,
I've set up a first AlmaLinux mirror in Mauritius thanks to a generous
server/bandwidth sponsorship by cloud.mu.
I've synced the server using the closest mirror which is Kenya and the
MU mirror is now syncing every three hours. I have submitted a PR [1] on
GitHub to inlude MU as mirror now.
Cheers,
Ish Sookun

This is happening on multiple 8.4 images in us-west-2. That same image, in us-east-1 is not affected. I got it to work once a few minutes ago, but then stopped again. Any ideas? I have some possibly older spins of 8.4 that I can get into (I can't get into these as all the first boot prep didn't finish). This image has been prod for about a year and has been solid as a rock in 4 regions until just today. Any suggestions?
Dear all,
I have referred below page for setting up a new mirror but I need to know whether you guys provide any recommendation or doc for setting up the server where we can keep all the files.
https://wiki.almalinux.org/Mirrors.html
In my understanding, below steps are required:
1. Get a VM with AlmaLinux OS installed and public access and min 500G disk
2. Install apache server
3. Sync all the mirror files from AlmaLinux to the apache doc root
Do you have any documentation to be followed or we can do our own way? It would be great if you can share the best practices.
Regards,
G
