It's been requested for EPEL10 and there's some slight movement: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2303892 On Sat, Aug 23, 2025 at 11:39 AM Stephen John Smoogen via AlmaLinux Users < users(a)lists.almalinux.org> wrote: > > > On Sat, 23 Aug 2025 at 12:33, Stephen John Smoogen <smooge(a)gmail.com> > wrote: > >> >> >> On Sat, 23 Aug 2025 at 12:16, Adrian Sevcenco via AlmaLinux Users < >> users(a)lists.almalinux.org> wrote: >> >>> Does anyone know what happened with systemd-networkd? >>> IMHO is it a more reliable and clear configuration system then >>> NetworkManager >>> and i would like to use it ... >>> On alma9 it used to be found in epel... >>> >>> >> I just did a `dnf list systemd*` and it showed me: >> systemd-networkd.x86_64 253.4-1.el9 >> epel >> >> so it should still be there >> >> > > My reading comprehension is low today it would seem. That got me a little further — reFIND works, it finds the EFI grub image on the Alma USB stick, and it attempts to boot it. Alas, it gets no further than that: I get a message about booting with default grub options of '', and then a white cursor, and nothing further.

I wrote a blog article about it on my tech blog (in french) : https://blog.microlinux.fr/refind/ Cheers, Niki -- Microlinux - Solutions informatiques durables 7, place de l'église - 30730 Montpezat Site : https://www.microlinux.fr Blog : https://blog.microlinux.fr Mail : info(a)microlinux.fr Tél. : 04 66 63 10 32 Mob. : 06 51 80 12 12

Installer on 2012 Mac Mini failing to boot
by Jos 07 Aug '25

07 Aug '25

Hi folks, I'm wrestling with an odd problem in the lab and hoping someone has some insights. I have a 2012 Mac Mini (6,1 - Core i5-3210M) and I'm unable to get Alma installed on it, as I can't get the installer to actually boot. Thus far, this is what I've tried: - Alma DVD or Boot ISO on USB stick: Mac can see the stick as bootable, but selecting to boot results in a black screen. - Ventoy with Alma DVD ISO: Booting in "normal mode" results in the same as above (black screen). However, booting in "grub mode" gets me to the first installer-select screen (install/validate/troubleshoot). Any option selected from there, however, even "install in non-graphical mode", results in a black screen. Doing some searches online, it looks like Macs do something weird with EFI (a Mac doing weird things with partitions — what a shock, right?), so I guess it's possible that's messing with the installer. Oddly, however, a Fedora 42 install stick boots right up and happily installs on the same hardware without any issue. Anyone manage to get this type of hardware working with Alma? TIA, Jos

They have integrated ansible as package ansible-core into their system. ansible-core is part of RHEL and AlmaLinux. The package ansible, however, is from EPEL and based on the community version. Anything beyond is just names. -Gerald
