There's always old school lshw, but maybe I'd go fastfetch for something more inxi-ish. I know both are different from inxi, but maybe??

inxi is available in epel repo. https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/epel/getting-started/ Other RHEL 9 compatible distributions EPEL 9 officially targets CentOS Stream 9 and RHEL 9. EPEL 9 packages will also likely work with other distributions that target RHEL 9 compatibility. We cannot list specific instructions for all such distributions, but in general the steps needed should look similar to the steps for RHEL 9. First enable the distribution’s equivalent of the CRB repository, then install the epel-release package. dnf config-manager --set-enabled crb dnf install https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-9.noarch.rpm dnf install inxi Em qua., 17 de dez. de 2025 às 13:57, Paul Graff via AlmaLinux Users < users(a)lists.almalinux.org> escreveu: > Hi, I am a new AlmaLinux user. Do AlmaLinux repos completely lack any cli password managers (like “pass”)? What do y´all use to handle secrets in cli?

AlmaLinux 9.7, what is used instead of inxi?

Hi, I am a new AlmaLinux user. I am wondering what is used that may be similar to the inxi perl script (system information)? I ask this as being completely new to dnf and when passing 'dnf list' there is no inxi package shown AFAICT. I have more questions for you but want to keep this question short and see what is the result. -Greatest Hopes

ssh Xforwarding Not working
by mohammd abedini 05 Dec '25

05 Dec '25

Summary of the X11 Forwarding Issue in AlmaLinux 10 Several users have reported that X11 forwarding no longer works as expected in AlmaLinux 10. This behavior originates from upstream RHEL 10 changes, where legacy X11 components and untrusted forwarding paths have been restricted for security and Wayland-related architectural updates. Common symptoms include: ssh -X / ssh -Y producing no GUI output X11Forwarding yes having no effect Missing or non-functional X11 compatibility packages Wayland defaults interfering with legacy X11 workflows Workarounds: Enable X11 forwarding explicitly in sshd_config Install compatibility packages: xorg-x11-xauth, xorg-x11-apps, xorg-x11-xinit Use a compatible X server on the client Use ssh -Y (trusted forwarding) in secure environments Consider alternatives such as VNC, SPICE, or X2Go for stable graphical access Upstream changes indicate that X11 forwarding is no longer guaranteed to function without additional configuration, and users may need to adjust workflows accordingly.

Alma linux 10 httpd log shows read only file system
by Jerry Geis 04 Dec '25

in /var/log/httpd/error_log it is saying Read-only file system. This is not the case the actual file system is fine. I can "echo 1 > file" just fine. Newly built VM. my CGI seems to be running just fine - as long as I echo to stdout - but when I try to write to a file - I get the above error. What is different on Alma 10 - that to httpd its read-only selinux is turned off. I copied my configs over from Alma 9 which work . and rebooted Thanks Jerry

Re: Will clearsilver and clearsilver-devel eventually be added to AlmaLinux 10 packages?
by Jonathan Wright 04 Dec '25

clearsilver is a Fedora EPEL package, not a core AlmaLinux package. https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/clearsilver See https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/epel/epel-package-request/#end_users for how you can request it be built in EPEL 10.
